Macclesfield Canal - 28th April 2014

1 hour session setting up a Kirton Tor K1 to use on the Cheshire Ring Race. Certainly lighter than my racing sea kayak, but I'll use up some energy keeping it upright! Need to paddle it a few more times to see if I can be more relaxed and efficient. Didn't paddle with a GPS, so I need to see if it is much faster (if any).

Didn't time the session accurately, paddled partly with Neil and Rachael. Average speed on the GPS was reading 8.4kph, so fast touriing pace.

Brereton Lake - 24th April 2014

Lake session in the Xplore, rolling and rescue practice. Used an inflatable paddle float which was easy to use and made getting back into the boat pretty easy. Might be a good investment?... managed a re-entry and roll, so maybe not a high priority.

Macclesfield Canal - 21st April 2014

30km round trip to Marple.
Out in 1:47, back in 1:46.
Lots of boats out, so quite a few delays.
Felt harder work than the last time I did this route... More wind maybe.

Club Hare and Hounds handicap, 4 miles, race time 40:49 - PB for the 4 x 1mile course, but came 3rd (again!).
After 4 races, I'm leading the points table!
