Macclesfield Canal - 28th July 2009

Clarke Lane <-> Higher Poynton Marina.
Experimented with different paddle "feather" to try and reduce the numbness then pain in my left wrist.

On the way out I tried 0, about 30, and also RH feather of about 45 degrees (I normally paddle about 60% LH feather). The zero feather seemed to be the most comfortable, so I paddled all the way back that way.

Instinctively it didn't feel that different, and watching my wrists the left hand was not flexing as much as before as would be expected. Not sure if the zero feather is less efficient than the 45-80 degree feather that most racing kayakers use. My time was a bit slow - about an hour on the return, but I put that down to being a bit reserved trying the different paddle configuration and protecting my wrist.
